Kerry, the Munster and All-Ireland champions of last season, cruised to victory over Limerick in the Munster under-21 football championship at Kilmallock.
After only five minutes Aodhan McGearailt had Kerry's first goal, and at the end of the first quarter they led by 1-5 to nil. Limerick's first point came after 16 minutes from Noel Mulvihill, but after 28 minutes Noel Kennelly had Kerry's second goal, and when they led by 2-6 to 0-3 at half-time the game was as good as over as a contest.
Limerick failed to score from play throughout the hour and Kerry's third goal was scored by substitute Sean O'Sullivan.
