Seβn Boylan and his selectors should be in a position to name their side for Sunday's Leinster football final against Dublin tonight. Precautionary checks will be taken on half backs Hank Traynor and Enda McManus but they are expected to be available. McManus didn't start the last day against Kildare but with Paddy Reynolds suspended, the Dunboyne man is likely to make the cut.

Dublin SF

Brian Stynes and Jim Gavin remain the only players definitely ruled out of next weekend, according to manager Tom Carr. "Jonny McGee got a knock on his head in an accident last week but hopefully he's going to be alright."

A selection is expected tonight.

Fermanagh SF

John Maughan has stepped down as manager of the senior footballers. The move wasn't unexpected despite his serving only one year in charge. Fermanagh were initially successful, winning the All-Ireland B title and defeating Donegal in the Ulster championship. A surprise defeat by Monaghan catapulted them back into the qualifier series against Donegal again and this time the result went the other way with Fermanagh failing to score in the first half. Maughan spoke about the pressure of the position in the aftermath and indicated that he was thinking of calling it a day.

Kildare SF

Mick O'Dwyer is expected to stay on as manager of Kildare after the weekend's defeat by Sligo, according to county board sources. "Mick agreed to a two-year appointment at the start of the year," says county PRO Syl Merrins. "It's up to himself, but even after Saturday I'd expect he'll stay for the year. Some of the players are in need of rest and they'll get it now."

Limerick U-21H

Eugene Mulcahy has been handed a three-month suspension by the Munster Council and will be unavailable to Limerick, who start their defence of their Munster and All-Ireland hurling crowns against Cork on Thursday. Mulcahy had originally been handed a 48-week ban for having played illegally in Britain, but that was reduced after an appeal by the Limerick County Board. Doubtful for Thursday is another of last season's squad members, Willy Walsh, who damaged a knee while assisting his club in a championship game at the weekend.
