Team Check

Cork SF

Manager Larry Tompkins will resume training with his team this evening, although the line-up to face Galway at Croke Park on Sunday is not expected until later in the week.

The minimum of changes are expected from the side that fell to Kerry in last Sunday's Munster final in Pβirc U∅ Chaoimh. Fachtna Collins, who replaced the injured Nicholas Murphy at the start, is unlikely to keep his place at midfield as he was later replaced by John Miskella.

The other midfielder, Michael O'Sullivan, is also a doubt after being left prostrate on the field as Kerry got in for a point. He was later replaced by Derek Kavanagh. Aidan Dorgan is also in the running to get a starting place in the attack, as is Podsie O'Mahony.

Mayo SF

The team to face Westmeath in Hyde Park on Saturday is expected to be named tonight. Corner forward Marty McNicholas is the main injury worry having been sidelined from training with a groin injury ever since the Connacht final loss to Roscommon.

Further concerns for manager Pat Holmes is corner back Fergal Costello - who missed the final - as he is still suffering with a hamstring injury and midfielder Pat Fallon, currently suffering with a dose of the flu. But the rest of the team came through last weekend's county championship games without any side-effects.

Westmeath SF

Manager Luke Dempsey sat with his selectors last night to finalise the team to face Mayo although it won't be released until sometime tomorrow.

Big-scoring forward Des Dolan is almost certain to miss out as he has been on crutches since the third-round win over Louth due to an ankle injury.

Wing back Derek Heavin also had a scare last week when he spent time in Ballinasloe hospital with suspected bacterial meningitis, and although it was a less serious strain, he also looks set to miss out.

Fellow defender Brian Morley is also doubtful with a pulled hamstring.

Galway SF

Galway are expected to name their team tonight for Sunday's clash with Cork at Croke Park. Changes are expected from the side that edged passed Armagh as Paul Clancy and Derek Savage are back in the running for starting places.

Tomas Mannion and Ja Fallon picked up minor injuries in the win over Armagh but are expected to start, although it remains to be seen if midfielder Sean ╙ Domhnaill will play less than 24 hours after his wedding.

Cavan SF

The first round of the senior football championship last weekend left manager Val Andrews with a number of injury worries. Midfielder Barry McCrudden (leg injury), wing-forward John Tierney (rib injury) and corner-forward Larry Reilly (knee injury) are all on the doubtful list ahead of the meeting with Derry on Sunday. The team will now be finalised later in the week.
