Arsenal (2) v Blackburn (8)

Martin Keown (right), is recalled and Giovanni van Bronckhorst switches from midfield to replace Cole (hamstring).

Ray Parlour is likely to be recalled and Arsene Wenger is considering starting Dennis Bergkamp instead of Sylvain Wiltord alongside Thierry Henry. Francis Jeffers is still under treatment for an ankle injury and David Seaman has not recovered from a shoulder injury so Richard Wright keeps his place.

Manager David O'Leary claims he has a specific role in mind for Johnson, who can play at left back, left side of midfield or central midfield. But with no injury worries following the UEFA Cup victory over Troyes, Johnson, who will cost Leeds £9 million sterling with £2 million relating to appearances, is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench.

The six players who opted out of Chelsea's UEFA Cup clash in Israel this week will return to the squad for the trip to Elland Road. However, skipper Marcel Desailly is struggling to shake off an Achilles injury, while Eidur Gudjohnsen has a touch of flu. Five of the youngsters who replaced the senior stars on the trip to Tel Aviv will drop back out of the squad to make way for them.
