Teolane should not be missed

Jim Bolger’s filly brings to the table the best level of form, having trotted up in a decent Listed race at Naas last month.

It may be prescient that Teolane’s trainer won that same race in 2008 with Cuis Ghare, who subsequently won the Albany.

This impressive-looking daughter of Teofilo has had quite a busy time – she was sighted three times in May – but looks to have a strong constitution with which to handle her racing.

Sure to get farther in time, Teolane is a really exciting prospect.

Bolger, successful yesterday with Banimpire, believes his representative is just as good a two-year-old as Cuis Ghaire was.

“She’s a good type of filly. The first time she ran she got bumped leaving the stalls and didn’t really find her stride but came home well,” said the Coolcullen legend yesterday.

“Next time out was over seven at Leopardstown and she did it really well. After that we went back to six at Naas and she won that very well. She’s nice.

“I hate to say this, but Teolane is probably as good as Cuis Ghaire, who won the Albany a few years back.”

Pat Murphy is hoping Luv U Forever can follow the example of his other two-year-old filly Caledonia Lady, who ran a massive race to finish a close third in Wednesday’s Queen Mary Stakes.

As does Forte De Marmi, who could be the answer to the Wolferton Stakes.

Luca Cumani’s five-year-old colt made breathless progress last time, having catapulted through the handicapping ranks with four victories.

Although he has hardly inspired much confidence this term, his latest effort in Listed class at Goodwood was more like it. Forte De Marmi has enough class to make short shrift of top weight in what is a typically competitive affair.

Perhaps a shade more confidence can be carried into the Queen’s Vase, for which Regent Street holds outstanding claims.

Aidan O’Brien has won two of the last four renewals of this Group Three encounter, and is sure to have high hopes with this Galileo colt.

Regent Street made encouraging late headway in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial in May, and also got to within half a length of Banimpire (winner of the Ribblesdale yesterday) in the Ballysax. Coolmore’s challenger has stamina running through both sides of the family, so no-one should be put off by this considerable vault in distance.

O’Brien has won two runnings of the Group One Coronation Stakes, with Lillie Langtry and Sophisticat, and Together has an outstanding chance of adding to that impressive record after good runs in both the English and Irish Guineas.
