The Dunwoody Verdict

One Man

One Man

The grey goes for his third successive King George VI Chase on St Stephen's Day, although Dunwoody believes the first of them may account for his subsequent flops in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. "He got very tired up the hill at Sandown two years ago and didn't stop but maybe psychologically it left its mark. He probably has had physical problems too but I don't think he lacks stamina. There are a lot of entries for the King George but nothing on paper to really frighten me." One Man is currently evens favourite.

Dorans Pride

The current Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite, beaten only once in his completed races over fences, will run next in the Ericsson Chase on the Sunday of Leopardstown and another possible clash with Imperial Call. Dunwoody compares Dorans Pride favourably to the staying chasers he has ridden since Desert Orchid. "Miinehoma finished third in the Gold Cup and Dorans Pride is better than him. This year he is being trained specifically for the Gold Cup and seems stronger."
