Battle of the Bridge
They needed extra time to do it but Chelsea are through the League Cup final after they beat Liverpool 1-0 in a tempestuous affair at Stamford Bridge.
Branislav Ivanovic got Chelsea’s goal with 94 minutes on the clock before Jordan Henderson missed a golden opportunity to take the game to penalties after 111.
It was a thrilling and fractious affair, with Diego Costa lucky to escape punishment for a stamp on Emre Can before having a good penalty shout turned down, while Henderson and Lucas Leiva both escaped second yellow cards.
Spurs 90 minutes from Wembley
Jose Mourinho's side find out who they'll play in the final tonight as Tottenham Hotspur travel to Bramall Lane with a one goal advantage thanks to Andros Townsend's first leg penalty.
Madigan set for 10
With both Johnny Sexton and Paddy Jackson injured Joe Schmidt is likely to turn to Ian Madigan to solve his outhalf quandary for Ireland's opening Six Nations fixture against Italy in Rome.
However, with Madigan playing the majority of his rugby at inside centre this season, he is in line to start at number 10 for the Irish Wolfhounds against England Saxons at Musgrave Park on Friday as he looks to get back into the groove at halfback.
McGrath back from the naughty step
Also set to appear against Italy is prop Jack McGrath, who is close to making his return following a three-week ban handed down for stamping on Ulster's Rory Best in the victory at the RDS earlier this month.
Marmion enters the international fray
With Conor Murray and Eoin Reddan injury concerns and with Isaac Boss not having started a Six Nations match for more than seven years, Connacht's Kieran Marmion has moved into the picture at scrumhalf.
Marmion will be joined in the Wolfhounds line up by Ulster's Iain Henderson, who made an impressive return to action against Leicester Tigers last weekend.
Meanwhile in the Leinster Schools Senior Cup St Michael's survived a major scare as they saw off a dogged St Mary's 19-14 in a dramatic encounter at Donnybrook. Roscrea and Newbridge also progressed to the next round.
GAA set to tackle big issues
The GAA's director general Padraic Duffy has said the association is set to tackle its biggest problem, the issues of club fixtures and player welfare, writes Sean Moran.
In his annual report Duffy also defended the GAA's commercial exploits, and said the association felt let down by Dublin City Council for its role in last year's Garth Brooks saga.
Ian O'Riordan spoke to Darran O'Sullivan, who quit his job in order to concentrate fully on playing senior intercounty football for Kerry.
Wawrinka through in Melbourne
Stan Wawrinka is through to the semi-finals of the Australian Open after a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (6) straight sets victory over Kei Nishikori, while Serena Williams is also through to the last four as she blew away Dominika Cibulkova 6-2 6-2 in their quarter-final.
Woods ahead of schedule
Tiger Woods has insisted he is ahead of schedule as he continues his recovery from back surgery as he prepares for his first event of the year at the Phoenix Open.
Road to Gold Cup
Road to Riches is set to lead Michael O'Leary's formidable festival team at Cheltenham nine years on from War of Attrition's success in the Gold Cup, while Ruby Walsh has refused to rule out the possibility of an Arkle Trophy clash between Willie Mullin's star novices Un de Sceaux and Vautour.
