Javier Hernandez sinks Atleti

Real Madrid are through to the Champions League semi-finals after Javier Hernandez’s late strike sank city rivals Atletico and gave Carlo Ancelotti’s side a 1-0 win on the night and on aggregate.

As in the first leg Real dominated proceedings at the Bernabeu and after Arda Turan was sent off Atletico's resistance was finally broken, as on-loan Manchester United striker Chicarito scrambled the ball home following brilliant work by Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez.

Juventus are also into the last four after a stalemate away at Monaco put them through 1-0 on aggregate following their first leg win in Turin.

O’Driscoll keeps it in the family
