Ulster stay alive in Europe after stunning recovery, Connacht pipped at the death, Kane keeps Spurs in the FA Cup and Dublin into O’Byrne Cup semi-finals

Ulster last province standing

Ulster are the last province standing in this season's Champions Cup after they produced a stirring second half comeback to sink French side Oyonnax and keep their hopes of qualification from Pool One well and truly alive.

Les Kiss's side looked to be going the same way as Leinster and Munster when they trailed 23-0 at the break after a rudderless first half display, but the introduction of Ruan Pienaar, Paddy Jackson and Nick Williams changed the game and the trio inspired Ulster to a priceless 24-23 win.

Connacht lose at the death

Connacht lost for the fourth game on the spin yesterday after a last minute penalty moved the Scarlets back to the summit of the Pro 12.

Pat Lam’s men looked to have the game won in West Wales when Jack Carty’s penalty gave them a 19-18 lead three minutes from time, but late indiscipline gave Steve Shingler the chance to steal victory for the hosts and leave Connacht still in search of a first win at Parc Y Scarlets.

Kane keeps Spurs in the cup

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City will be in tonight's draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup but will need a replay next week to decide who progresses after their 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane yesterday, Harry Kane's 89th minute penalty saving the hosts.

Elsewhere Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored his first Chelsea goal in a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe at Stamford Bridge, while Swansea City became one of the third round's high profile victims after they were beaten 3-2 away at Oxford United.

Elsewhere Shrewsbury Town beat Cardiff City 1-0 and Yeovil Town snatched a 2-2 draw at Carlisle United.

Dublin ease past DCU

Dublin made it two wins from two yesterday and set up an O'Byrne Cup semi-final date with Longford after they beat DCU 1-16 to 1-12 at Parnell Park.

In the McKenna Cup Tyrone beat Derry 1-16 to 4-6 and Pete McGrath enjoyed a victorious return to Down, his Fermanagh side running out 0-14 to 0-8 winners.

Irish Gold Cup sponsorless

The Irish Gold Cup is to go ahead this year without a sponsor after Hennessy ended thei 25-year association with the race in May. Leopardstown are confident of finding a long term backer for the race in 2017.

Spieth destroys field in Hawaii

Jordan Spieth has won the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii with an imoressive closing score of 30 under par. Padraig Harrington finished 13 shots off the leader in a tie for sixth place.
