The first finalist of Euro 2016 will be decided tonight as Wales play Portugal in Lyon - in what may well come down to a battle between two of the best players in the world. Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"For those who like a good showdown story, the first semi-final could scarcely have been better set up had it involved two guys standing with Smith & Wessons at opposite ends of one of those wild-west main streets." Emmet Malone contrasts the role the two superstars play for their respective teams, but feels this game will come down to more than just their battle.

José Mourinho was unveiled yesterday at Old Trafford - and the new Manchester United manager took his questions from the media in a typically brash mood. From revealing his plans to reinstate Wayne Rooney to a striking role, his personal ambition to break Alex Ferguson's Champions League record - one topic the self acclaimed 'Special One' was quick to address was his reputation as a manager who does not give youth a chance. Now of course at a club who pride themselves on doing quite the opposite. "One lie, repeated many times," was his response to that one - providing a very questionable list of 55 players whom he had given a debut to.

"A 36-year-old and a 34-year-old into the semifinals of the biggest tennis tournament in the world and yet it seemed few could take their eyes off them. Nobody saw it coming. The two carving up the tennis world was a thing of the past. For Venus, it has been a second career" - Johnny Watterson reports from Wimbledon.

Meanwhile in Darragh Ó Sé's column this morning he says that Kerry's current pessimism about Dublin is surprising. "Dublin are the best team in the country and there's a lot of negativity down here. But I don't for a minute think they're unbeatable. If I were a Kerry player now, I'd be saying bring it on."
