Champions League

Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny is expected to alter his starting XI as his team look to overturn a 2-0 deficit in tonight’s Champions League play-off second leg in Poland.

Polish champions Legia Warsaw won last week’s first leg at the Aviva, meaning Kenny’s team will need to win tonight by a better scoreline than that 2-0 defeat. With the reward at stake a place in the group stages.

Dundalk's mission impossible however hasn't been helped by the suspension of skipper Stephen O'Donnell and a training ground injury picked up by striker Ciaran Kilduff.

GAA

In his column this morning Jim McGuinness says that following their semi-final win over Tipperary on Sunday - Mayo go into an All-Ireland final after their least impressive campaign in five years. If they go missing again for a full 35 minutes as they did last weekend, would Mayo survive against Dublin or Kerry in a final?

“It’s funny,” he writes, “they’re going into the All-Ireland final with their least impressive campaign of the last five years behind them. Maybe it’s written in the stars altogether – they’ll probably go and win the All-Ireland on the back of it!”

Rugby

In what will be the first case of a professional rugby player taking his employers to court due to concussion, Cillian Willis has accused Sale Sharks of "clinical negligence". He believes that Sale and two doctors wrongfully handled and incorrectly treated two head injuries he sustained while playing against Saracens in the LV Cup on March 10th, 2013. Willis never played rugby again.

Golf

Shane Lowry's failure to secure a top-10 finish in the Wyndham combined with Matt Fitzpatrick's fifth-place finish in the Czech Masters mean that all nine automatic places on Darren Clarke's Ryder Cup team for Hazeltine are confirmed. He's now relying on the captain's pick - and may need a win in Denmark this week to have any chance.

Rowing

Meanwhile Olympic silver medallist Paul O'Donovan transferred his good form into the World Championship singles yesterday - He won his heat of the lightweight single sculls at the Championships with some ease and will have a favourable lane draw in Wednesday's quarter final.
