A second round of 68 has given Portsmouth's Mark Thistleton the clubhouse lead midway through the second round of the Irish Amateur Strokeplay Championship at Royal Dublin.

At four-under-par, Thistleton is one ahead of Scotland's Paul O'Hara.

Overnight leader Eoin Arthurs of Forrest Little was unable to reproduce yesterday's form but at two-under, following a second-round of 74, he remains the leading Irish challenger at this stage.
