An injury-time point from a free by Gary Bambrick gave De La Salle,Waterford, a thrilling win over Thurles CBS in this Munster Colleges senior hurling (Dr Harty Cup) semi-final cliff-hanger in New Inn on Saturday.
Waterford opened well with goals from Thomas Connors and Craig Moloney but Thurles rallied to lead at half-time by 0-9 to 2-2.
Thurles added three points to their tally early in the second half but now it was De La Salle who rallied and a Willie Walsh goal in the 17th minute edged them in front. The sides were level three times in a hectic finish before Bambrick struck the all-important winner in the 32nd minute.
