THYNE IN MOTION, from Charlie Brooks' in form Lambourn stable can step up markedly on his debut effort to land the Inkpen Novices' Hurdle at Newbury today. Brooks' gelding was a well beaten 20 lengths eighth of 12 to Decide Yourself at Kempton, but gave the distinct impression that he was capable of better.

Bang in contention with three to jump, Thyne in Motion's lack of condition began to tell and, thereafter, Graham Bradley did no more than point him in the right direction as he steadily lost touch. Up at Sedgefield, Micky Hammond's Pims Gunner can land the McEwan Durham National Handicap Chase. A dour stayer, he ran a cracker from out of the handicap in the Great Yorkshire Chase at Doncaster, finishing third to Addington Boy. Hammond can take advantage of what would be a very favourable mark here.
