Two goals in a three-minute period in the second quarter ensured an easy win for Tipperary at Dungarvan yesterday. A Kieran Whelan goal after only two minutes put Waterford in front before Peter Lambert's goal in the 14th minute gave the visitors a 1-4 to 1-2 lead that they never relinquished.
All-Star Declan Browne struck for the first of his two goals in the 22nd minute before Damien Byrne added another to leave Tipperary in front by 3-7 to 1-2 at half time.
