Tipperary's dismal run continued at Kilsheelan yesterday when they were trounced by a well-drilled Wexford side who took control from the start and were a massive 14 points clear at the finish.
Making good use of the strong breeze, Wexford led 0-5 to 0-0 after 10 minutes. John Hegarty cut through for a spectacular goal in the 24th minute, but Tipperary fought back with a flurry of points from James Power, Benny Hickey, Damien O'Brien and James Williams. Wexford's Leigh O'Brien then kicked two great long-range points for the visitors, and they led 1-9 to 0-6 at half-time.
John Hegarty crashed home his second goal in the 62nd minute and left half-forward Paddy Colfer wrapped it up when he drilled home the third goal with four minutes to play.
