WORLD SUPERBIKES:James Toseland was denied his first double race win of the season by nine-thousandths of a second by the reigning world superbike champion, Troy Bayliss, in Holland.

The HANNspree Ten Kate Honda rider won the first race at Assen but his bid to make it double Dutch at the home race of his team was foiled by the narrowest of margins by the Ducati Xerox rider Bayliss.

The two riders were locked together for most of the race and swapped the lead several times in the closing stages before Bayliss won the dash for the line.

A disappointed Toseland said: "I had to ride so fast around the last lap I braked a bit deep. The wily fox (Bayliss) came past me. What a race.
