As Tottenham prepare for the visit of Everton tonight George Graham has made sure he knows his squad has a virtually clean bill of health after ordering all his players who were on World Cup international duty on Saturday to report back to the club within 24 hours.
England's Darren Anderton and Sol Campbell and Steve Carr, who figured prominently in the 2-2 Republic of Ireland draw in Holland, were all back in training with Spurs by 10.30 on Sunday morning and even Sergei Rebrov, who had to fly back in from the Ukraine where his country played Poland, made it by early afternoon.
Graham said: "We had full co-operation from the national associations and we are thinking of requesting this on a regular basis.
"The main benefit was that we were able to give the players a good warm-down so that they were ready for a full session today and that I knew in advance that everybody was fit."
Everton manager Walter Smith will almost certainly start the game with Paul Gascoigne in his starting line-up as he has a mountain of injury problems to overcome. They include Scotland defender David Weir, injured while playing for his country in Latvia on Saturday.
"It will be touch and go for the game for David Weir, he's got a cut across the back of his Achilles after playing for Scotland," Smith revealed.
"It's frustrating to see so many players injured so early in the season. At the moment we only have three fit defenders in Steve Watson, Dave Unsworth and Weir - if he makes it - and we are stretched to the limit.
Everton are without the suspended Richard Dunne, still two games short of playing again, as well as injured stars Abel Xavier, Mark Pembridge, Alessandro Pistone, Duncan Ferguson, Richard Gough, Michael Ball and Thomas Myhre.
