Holders, Clane, lost their Kildare SFC title when they were ousted by Round Towers in a onesided final at Newbridge.

Martin Lynch scored all Clane's points put the second half was less than a minute old when Round Towers got the ideal start through a Sean Daly goal and Towers added four more points before Clane scored again.

A second goal by Daly a few minutes before the end of the contest put the title beyond the reach of the champions.
