Trainer Roger Charlton warned punters not to get "carried away" with the Epsom Derby chances of Aldwych despite the colt's victory in the Stanley Bristol Casino Tattenham Corner Classified Stakes at Bath yesterday.
The chestnut son of In The Wings won by three-quarters of a length under Pat Eddery. But Charlton said: "I think it's the silly season and people should not get carried away with the hype and bookmakers trying to shorten horses up."
Despite Charlton's misgivings the Tote kept Aldwych as a 20 to 1 chance from 25 to 1 for the Epsom showpiece next month.
