TOMMY TREACY, who will be in action at Auteuil tomorrow on the Paddy Mullins trained Noble Thyne in the French Champion Hurdle, was on target for the same stable aboard River Valley Lady in the opening Tipperary Town and District Veterinary Surgeons Maiden Hurdle at Tipperary last night.

The filly was always travelling sweetly on the heels of the leading group, and struck the front approaching two out for a comfortable two and a half length win over Jacky Flynn. Mullins is already in France supervising Noble Thyne's preparation.

Tommy Treacy's uncle Martin, saddled the winner of the following handicap hurdle when The Wicked Chicken successfully made all. The eight year old carries the colours of John Foley, brother of Bagenalstown trainer Tom, who has an equine swimming pool at Garryhill.

Foley was later on the mark himself when Hurmuzan, ridden by his daughter Adrienne, landed the Tipperary Hotehers Flat Race. The Shahrastani gelding battled well inside the final furlong to beat Princess Gloria, who was backed from 5 to 1 to 7 to 2, by threequarters of a length.
