Danoli tuned up for his defence of the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup back at Leopardstown in a fortnight when jumping six fences after racing there yesterday afternoon. Partnered by Tom Treacy, Danoli galloped for a mile but Treacy was content to pull wide from the third last and complete the spin on the flat.

Earlier, Royal SunAlliance Novices' Chase favourite Florida Pearl worked in company with Ted Walsh's Papillon.

Afterwards the gelding's trainer Willie Mullins said: "Richard (Dunwoody) said he winged his fences and was every bit as good as when he won on his debut here."
