SIGERSON CUP: A much improved second-half showing by Maynooth College ensured a comfortable victory over Trinity College in the first round of the Sigerson Cup in Santry yesterday.
However, Maynooth's high number of wides in the first half threatened to derail their challenge. They were hit just before the break when Niall Kelly scored a goal that helped Trinity to a 1-1 to 0-2 half-time lead.
It was all change in the second half, however, as the Maynooth forwards finally zeroed their shooting sights in.
