New Zealander Greg Turner won the Australian PGA Championship by two shots at the Victoria Golf Club yesterday. Turner, the leader for the final three rounds, carded an even par round of 72 to finish at 10-under 278.
He beat Australian Shane Tait by two strokes with Craig Parry, Nick O'Hern and Robert Allenby joint third at seven under 281.
The victory is Turner's first in Australia in eight years and came after he lost the lead to playing partner Parry with four holes to play.
Parry had no sooner taken the lead than he surrendered it at the next hole.
Ireland's Raymond Kane secured a senior Tour card for next year when he shot a final round of 75 for joint 12th place at the Senior Tour school in Antalya, Turkey on Saturday.
England's Nick Job birdied the final two holes to snatch a full playing ticket for next year's £3 million tour. His closing 69 completed a six under 282 and earned him a share of third place and inside the top five who qualify for all tournaments.
After his final 25 foot birdie putt dropped the 50-year-old club professional at Richmond in Surrey said: "That was the most important putt I have had to hole for a long time."
