DAKAR RALLY:Two people have been in killed in Peru in a head-on collision involving a support vehicle for the Dakar Rally.
The victims were travelling in a taxi which hit a Land Rover from a British team of injured army veterans. Seven people were injured in the crash.
Three members of the British team, Race2Recovery, were flown to hospital in Lima.
They are reported to be “stable and conscious” with injuries described as “non-life-threatening”.
Four passengers from the taxi are also being treated in hospital. Another taxi overturned while swerving to avoid the crash wreckage, but no one in this vehicle is thought to have been seriously hurt.
The rally began in Lima on Saturday and will finish in southern Chile on January 20th.
