Tyrone's progress to the McKenna Cup semi-final against Monaghan was confirmed yesterday when the Ulster Council slapped them with the academic punishment of negating their win over Derry.

Tyrone were punished for fielding Damian McCaul, Colm Cavanagh, Brendan Boggs and Cathal McCarron in the recent victory over Derry despite the players' third level institutions also selecting them in their panels.

Armagh forward Paddy McKeever was handed a four-week suspension for attempting to kick out at a Fermanagh player in a recent McKenna Cup tie despite Fermanagh manager Charlie Mulgrew speaking on the player's behalf.

Dublin manager Paul Caffrey has made two enforced changes against Laois as Alan Brogan and Declan Lally take their leave from the pre-season competition to play in the All Star exhibition game in Dubai on Saturday.

Lally was a late addition to the travelling party on Tuesday, a surprising selection considering the St Brigid's forward wasn't nominated for an award and has yet to even command a regular place in the Dublin team.

Midfielder Shane Ryan is also on the biannual football trip.

Tomás Quinn comes in for his first start of the season at corner forward, after recovering from a groin injury, while David O'Callaghan regains a starting berth after missing last week's semi-final victory over Wicklow due to a similar complaint.

Diarmuid Connolly is switched to centre forward. The St Vincent's man made a decent case for a permanent place in the team during the national league when he kicked 1-13 in the last three games.

The other addition to the panel sees Stephen O'Shaughnessy named on the replacements for the first time this season.

Team manager Liam Kearns will announce the Laois team tonight.

Michael Reidy, introduced as a first-half substitute by Limerick in their win over UCC in the McGrath Cup semi-final last weekend, is included from the start for Saturday's visit to Páirc Uí Chaoimh to play Cork in the final.

The game will be a dress rehearsal for the counties' Munster Senior Football Championship first round meeting in May.

Reidy will be partnered by his Drom-Broadford club-mate Jason Stokes, who limped off injured after five minutes last Sunday and has now fully recovered from injury.
