Finn Harps and UCD will now go head-to-head for the First Division championship after confirming their promotions over the weekend.
UCD beat Cobh Ramblers 1-0 at St Colman's Park on Saturday night courtesy of a sixth-minute goal from Patrick Sullivan. That meant that Kildare County's 3-1 defeat at Sligo Rovers secured both UCD's and Harps' promotion with three games to play.
Harps' lead at the top was reduced to one point after a 0-0 draw at Monaghan United yesterday.
Bray Wanderers are in pole position to win the third promotion place as they are five points ahead of Kildare, with three games to go.
