MANCHESTER United were last night considering an appeal against their latest conviction for illegally approaching a schoolboy player.
United have been fined £20,000 by English FA for an illegal approach to 17 year old Oldham Athletic associated schoolboy forward David Brown.
Just over two weeks ago, United were found guilty of the same offence involving Arsenal's Matthew Wicks but escaped punishment when the son of former Chelsea defender Steve returned to Highbury.
In the latest case, United must pay the hearing costs and agree compensation with Oldham for Brown whose signature could eventually cost up to £100,000.
"We don't want to say much at this stage as we are considering an appeal," confirmed Old Trafford chairman Martin Edwards.
Arsenal's former England striker Ian Wright has been summoned to appear before an FA Disciplinary Committee, along with a Highbury director.
They want him to explain comments he made on the Arsenal Clubcall telephone line referring to referees as "little Hitlers."
Wright's manager Bruce Rioch has written to the FA apologising for his involvement in a touchline confrontation with Newcastle coach Terry McDermort during the Highbury League Cup quarter final on January 10th.
Rioch pointed out that the bust up was purely verbal and nothing else. McDermott has also given his written version of events and both letters will now be considered by the FA Disciplinary Committee who will decide whether to take further action.
