TIGER WOODS said there is no tension between him and his caddie, Steve Williams, despite comments made after the US Open that were widely interpreted as critical.
After the final round at Pebble Beach, the world number one said he made three mental mistakes and went against his instincts. The remarks were widely interpreted by many as critical of Williams.
“There’s no tension there, not at all,” Woods said ahead of this weekend’s ATT National in Pennsylvania. “Do Stevie and I make mistakes on the golf course? Of course we do. We’re not perfect (and) we made mistakes at the wrong time,” added Woods, who will fly to Ireland after the event to play in the JP McManus Pro-Am.
