VIPs suit me but 501 is good on bottom line

I've been using my own Slazenger irons for about four years but I was surprised at how nice and easy I made the transition to using VIPs and, indeed, the other clubs. I felt very confident with the VIP club in my hand and the rigid shaft, I'll admit, suited me.

The clubhead on the VIP iron was slightly larger than I'm accustomed to but they're not too big and, in many ways, I found them to be a step up from my own clubs. The five-iron is a club I tend to use a lot, especially on what I call the par four and a half holes, and I was really happy with the results I achieved using this particular club during a round.

Likewise, the MC 501s were lovely. I was a little tentative at first using them, because I'm not used to graphite shafts and I was afraid initially about how they would handle. But they did everything I wanted, and I was very impressed.

The DX are a beautiful club. I was again a little bit afraid of them at first, because they didn't have a steel shaft, but it didn't take long to feel very confident.

To be honest, if I put the different clubs up against a wall, I would find it very hard to decide between them. However, under duress, I'd probably opt for the MC 501 because they're not alone nice to look at (they are a very attractive club) but they also did the business and, for anyone who plays golf, that is the bottom line.
