MIKE WALKER returned to Norwich on a wave of euphoria yesterday with the aim of bringing the good times back to Carrow Road two-and-a-half years after his move to Everton.
Walker took the club to some of their greatest ever achievements - including beating Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup in Germany in 1993.
He succeeds Gary Megson, who had only been in charge since just before last Christmas. The first division club is £5 million in debt and morale is at an all-time low.
Walker said: "There was two reasons why I decided to return. Firstly the amount of support I have had from the fans for the last three or four months, which in the end I found impossible to resist, and the second reason was Martin Armstrong, who persuaded me that the financial problems at this club could be cleared up sufficiently for me to want to come back." Armstrong has been acting as club spokesman.
