Racing: Ruby Walsh confirmed last night that he will ride the Paul Nicholls-trained Rigmarole in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle, leaving the way open for Timmy Murphy to ride Davenport Milenium in the big race at Cheltenham.

Murphy teamed up with Davenport Milenium at the post-race workouts in Leopardstown yesterday where Willie Mullins unleashed the bulk of his strong festival team. The trainer brought 15 horses to the track including Florida Pearl, Sadlers Wings and five potential starters for the Wetherbys Champion Bumper, including Templelusk. Sadlers Wings was ridden by Ruby Walsh in a group that also contained Davenport Milenium and the Supreme Novices' Hurdle possibles, Euro Leader and Royal Alphabet. Afterwards Mullins said: "Timmy was very happy with the way Davenport went over a mile and a half. He sat in behind, tracked them and ended up winning the gallop."

It was a mixed session for Walsh who was unseated from the SunAlliance Chase candidate Rule Supreme after three fences in a schooling session with Florida Pearl, Alexander Banquet and Macs Gildoran. He later teamed up with Rule Supreme again and did a round of the course unscathed.

Another star name on show was Solerina who went over two miles under Gary Hutchinson in a group that also contained the bumper hope Total Enjoyment and the Coral Cup favourite Dromlease Express.

"I'm very happy with that," said Solerina's trainer Michael Bowe while Jim Culloty appeared impressed by Total Enjoyment who he will ride at Cheltenham.

"It's hard to know but it was proper bit of work and she is a good mare. There is no two ways about that," Culloty said.

Conor O'Dwyer teamed up with Hardy Eustace who wore a visor when working with Mutineer. "They may just sharpen him up," said Hardy Eustace's trainer Dessie Hughes. "We are leaning towards the Champion Hurdle with him." Hughes worked Arkle Trophy hope Central House and Paul Carberry will again ride the horse at Cheltenham.
