AMERICAN Don Walsworth fired a four-under-par 66 to take a one-shot lead after the opening round of the $350,000 Hong Kong Open yesterday. The 33-year-old hit four birdies and a remarkable eagle two during a windswept opening day at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
Walsworth got off to a dream start, sinking a 15-foot birdie putt on the second hole, before hitting a 150-yard eight-iron from the fairway into the hole on the par four 4th for an eagle two. A birdie on the fifth put him at four-under for the opening five holes. Three players are one stroke behind Walsworth on 67, including rookie professional Ted Purdy.
