Cork C 1 Bohemians 1:KEITH WARD was the hero for Bohemians as his 91st minute penalty capitalised on some criminally slack defending from Cork City to earn a draw at Turner's Cross yesterday evening.

With five additional minutes just announced, City defender Kevin Murray brought down Derek Pender inside the box and there was no hesitation from referee Derek Tomney as he pointed to the spot and Ward drove home to deny the Leesiders a win and clean-sheet.

It was perhaps a bit of a surprise after Bohemians made wholesale changes, with eight swaps from their Europa League draw with Thor Akureyri, but they deserved the point in the end.

Cork had controlled the game for long spells and their goal arrived on 23 minutes when Daryl Horgan bulldozed his way in from the left wing following a nice through ball from Gearóid Morrissey, the striker notching his fifth of the season with a low drive past Andy McNulty.
