Harry Redknapp is threatening to pull out of talks with Leicester City after learning, much to his dismay, that the club is willing to give him a contract only until the end of the season.
John Elsom, the chairman at Filbert Street, yesterday made an official offer to Redknapp, as the successor to Peter Taylor, on a short-term contract that would be reviewed next summer when the club move to a new £31million stadium.
Although the proposed deal incorporates a significant bonus should Redknapp save Leicester from relegation, the former West Ham manager has let it be known that he is unhappy with the terms on offer.
Republic of Ireland under-21 squad member and Celtic midfielder Mickey Doyle (20) has been so impressive on a loan spell with AGF Aarhus that the Danish club wants to buy him.
The former Cherry Orchard player is "aggressive in the opposition's penalty area and his runs with the ball are considerably faster than many of the other players," said Aarhus manager/trainer John Stampe.
"He is also the type of player who has a positive influence on the game. You often see players who are world class in training but cannot reproduce it during the match. It's about being the best when it matters and that's Doyle."
