League of Ireland/ Waterford United 1 Drogheda United 1:From the start Waterford set about winning a hard-earned point that could yet prove vital in their battle for survival in the top division.
They have now taken eight out of the last 12 points on offer but the visitors have only lost one away game this season and they maintained that record last night.
The deadlock was broken on 73 minutes by Drogheda's captain for the night, Shane Robinson, when he squeezed the ball over the line at the far post following a cross from Ollie Cahill.
Waterford equalised 11 minutes later when the visitors' defence allowed a massive kick from goalkeeper Dean Delaney to hop and Dave Warren pounced to head into the net.
In a lively first half both sides had opportunities to score but the chances were squandered.
Robinson blasted over the bar on 16 minutes and then two excellent saves by Delaney within four minutes denied Tony Grant and Guy Bates and kept Waterford in the game.
