Abbeyside 1-19, Ballyduff Upper 0-15:Abbeyside hurlers ensured their first county final appearance since 1969 at Fraher Field yesterday when they came out on top over defending champions Ballyduff Upper to qualify for a county final showdown with De La Salle next Sunday  

With a 0-8 to 0-7 lead at half-time, Abbeyside stretched their lead to three points by the 39th minute when they got the vital breakthrough as Mark Gorman collected a Patrick Hurney centre to score the only goal of the game with Mark Fives adding a point to go seven points clear.

Ballyduff brought the margin back to three by the 51st minute, 1-15 to 0-15, but Abbeyside then went on to score the final four points of the game.
