Waterford United suffered their heaviest home defeat of the campaign to date at the RSC on Saturday night when they were defeated by a rampant Finn Harps side.
Harps opened the scoring after only nine minutes. Both Dave Kelleher and Sean Riordan failed to cut out across from Eamon Kavanagh and James Mulligan slotted the ball into the net from five yards.
The visitors second goal came on 28 minutes. The United defence stood back giving Tom Mohan too much room and too much time to tee up his shot. His low hard drive was blocked down but Jonathan Speake pounced to score from the rebound.
And victory was sealed for Harps when Kavanagh threaded through a perfect ball from midfield and Stephen Kelly scored with a low, 20-yard drive.
