British Open runner-up Brian Watts is a little miffed that he is ineligible for the Ryder Cup, even though he is well down the standings at present.
The USPGA dictates that a player must be born in America or born overseas of American parents to make the team. Watts was born in Canada to a German mother and English father and despite moving to the US at the age of six months, finds himself excluded.
Strangely, he could play for the Americans in the President's Cup as that team is chosen by the PGA Tour. The USPGA has promised to examine the rules in the future.
