Heavy rain over the last few days saw East Lake, venue for this week’s Tour Champions, close its doors in an effort to protect the course.
Almost 15 inches of rain fell in the Atlanta area over the weekend, forcing officials to close the course and driving range on Monday.
Padraig Harrington, one of the 30 players preparing for the PGA Tour’s seasonal finale, was restricted to use of the putting green and chipping area as he bids to claim FedEx Cup series.
Harrington needs to win this weekend and for Tiger Woods, the current points leader, to finish not better than third to win the $10 million first prize.
