Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen maintained their winning run when combining for a short-priced double at Cork yesterday, highlighted by the victory of Caumshinaun in the Listed Turtle Island Platinum Stakes.

Caumshinaun, owned by Weld's mother Gita, stretched clear over a furlong out to beat Avorado by three lengths.

"She has put up some great performances this year, and deserves some black type. She is in foal to Mujadil, and that is definitely her last run," said Weld .

Whistle Down, the seventh individual two-year-old winner for Rosewell House in the past two and a half weeks, justified favouritism in the Danehill Dancer Maiden. However the son of Danehill needed a strong drive by the reigning champion to touch off market rival Toreador by a short-head.
