Ireland Schools -16 Wales Schools -33: Wales clinched the Schools Triple Crown when they overcame an out-of-sorts Ireland side at Ravenhill on Saturday.
The Irish recovered after a faltering start, but then lost their way in the closing stages as the visitors finished with a flourish.
An early try from Richard Russell converted by Richard Williams boosted Wales, before scrumhalf David Connellan reduced the deficit with a penalty.
But in a blistering, 10-minute spell, Welsh winger Rhys Richard ran in two tries to propel his team into a 17-3 lead.
Ireland showed resilience and commitment in responding, with Connellan landing his second penalty before Robert Sweeney brushed in for a try which Connellan converted. He added a further penalty to leave the Irish trailing by just one point at the interval, 17-16.
Ireland's efforts to take control in the third quarter were thwarted by errors, and the accurate Williams lofted over three penalties to ease Wales into a more comfortable position before Richards blasted his way in for his third try. Williams added the points to give the visitors a handsome victory
