A physically stronger Wexford side made all the running from the get go – Ursula Jacob pointing after 20 seconds.
The margin was 0-6 to 0-1 after 12 minutes. A neat effort from Arlene Watkins flicked the only riposte to opposition dominance. Two superb points by Kate Kelly were the highlights early on.
All over the field, Wexford were on top and Jacob goaled in the 29th minute, following a trademark delivery into the danger zone from Kelly. It left Offaly were eight down at the break.
The second half never deviated from the first half’s script, but, to their credit, the Offaly players never gave up – dotting the half hour with three points.
Wexford cruised home, with Katrina Parrock striking for a brace of goals in the 41st and 47th minutes. The interplay was impressive, featuring a nice mixture of graft and craft, experience and exuberance and they now go for three All-Irelands in a row.
