LEINSTER MHC SEMI-FINALS:Wexford 2-21 0-15 Laois
THE SCORELINE might suggest a comfortable win for last year’s provincial finalists, but Laois – who had not beaten the Model County for 31 years – gave a great second-half performance last night.
However, the loss of midfielder Paul Harding, sent off on a straight red after 10 minutes, proved to be too much of a hill to climb.
Wexford lead 2-11 to 0-3 at the break, and despite some great points from Darren King and Neil Foyle, the closest Laois got was eight points.
