Camogie Senior Championship: Wexford surprised many by defeating Galway 3-6 to 0-7 in Saturday's championship game in Duggan Park to earn a place in this year's All-Ireland semi-final on August 20th.
In the other championship fixture Tipperary triumphed against Limerick, 5-17 to 0-8, but all is not lost for Limerick as they are still there having finished runners-up in the group.
Wexford took the lead after just 42 seconds through a point from Ursula Jacob. Galway's reply came less than a minute later when Áine Hilary pointed.
It remained tight until the break with Galway leading by a solitary point, 0-5 to 0-4.
There was again just one point between the sides with seven minutes of the game remaining, with Galway just in front.
Jacob then scored the first goal of the game before Kate Kelly drove a free to the Galway net and Una Leacy compounded the Connacht side's misery with a third goal in injury-time.
The second game, which was played at Semple Stadium, was a one-sided encounter as the Tipperary conquered Limerick by 5-17 to 0-8.Two first-half goals from Emily Hayden and Emer McDonnell proved vital for Tipperary as it gave them a comfortable half-time lead of 2-9 to 0-5.
In the last 10 minutes of the game Tipperary knocked in three goals from Emily Hayden, Noelle Kennedy and Louise Young to finish the game as a contest.
