School's sports fixtures over the coming week
ATHLETICS
Dartford, Loughrea, Co Galway, is the venue for Saturday's All-Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships. Michael Mulhare, Portlaoise CBS, winner of the Leinster Schools, will be among the favourites to take the Senior Boys' race. And in the Senior Girls' race all eyes will be on Charlotte and Rebecca Ffrench-O'Carroll, Loreto St Stephen's Green, fresh from their success at the Leinster final.
BASKETBALL
St Leo's Carlow host the All-Ireland Under-19 Shield final today. Ursuline Waterford, St Louis Monaghan, St Leo's Carlow, Coláiste Íosagáin and Moyne Community School take part.
On Friday the Under-19 A Shield final will be held in the Oblate Hall, Inchicore, Dublin. Mercy Waterford, Ursuline Blackrock, Mount Temple Comprehensive, St Vincent's (Cork), St Joseph of Cluny (Killiney) and Our Lady's Castleblaney take part.
CAMOGIE
The All-Ireland Colleges finals are on Saturday. In the Senior A final St Mary's Charleville meet St Brigid's of Callan in Moyle Rovers, Clonmel, at 2.30pm. In the B final, St Killian's, New Inn, Co Galway, take on Críost Rí, Cork, at 1pm in Feenagh, Limerick. The C final sees Blackwater Community School face Sacred Heart Tullamore (venue and time to be cconfirmed).
GAELIC GAMES
The semi-finals of the Connacht Vocational Schools Senior A championship take place today. Carraroe meet Belmullet in Shrule and Athenry face Castlebar in Garrymore, both games at 12.30pm.
In Mountbellew, also at 12.30pm, Ballygar meet St Cuan's in the Connacht Colleges Senior Small Schools Championship.
In Leinster, the Schools Junior Football A semi-final takes place in Dunderry (1.30pm), Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar facing St Declan's Cabra. The Juvenile Football A final pits Coláiste Eoin against Knockbeg in St Conleth's Newbridge at 1pm. Also today, in the Junior Football B semi-final, St Mary's Edenderry play Portmarnock CS in Dunganny at 1pm. Ashbourne CSl meet St Mark's CS Tallaght at 1pm (venue tbc) in the Junior Football C semi-final. Presentation DLS Bagenalstown face Coláiste Éanna in Baltinglass at 1pm in the Leinster Colleges Senior Hurling B semi-final.
On Friday the Leinster Schools Senior Football C semi-final is on at Timahoe (Laois) at 11am, Presentation DLS Bagenalstown play Killina Presentation. Coláiste Abbain Adamstown will play Clonaslee VS in the South Leinster Junior Football D play-off in Carlow CBS (noon) and in the Dublin Junior Football E final, Coláiste Chulaigh face St Joseph's Rush in the DCU grounds at 1.30. In the Dublin Schools Juvenile Hurling A Cup semi-final at Liffey Gaels, Coláiste Éanna meet Ardscoil Rís at 2pm.
On Saturday the Leinster Colleges Senior Hurling A final is in Dr Cullen Park, Carlow, Scoil Na mBráithre, Kilkenny, facing Dublin Colleges at 2pm. And in the final of the Dr Harty Cup, Thurles CBS face champions De La Salle Waterford in Leahy Park, Cashel, at 3pm.
The Connacht Colleges Senior C final, St Aloysius v Ballisodare, starts at Frenchpark at 2pm. And also at 2pm Borris VS meet Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny, in the Leinster Vocational Schools Senior Hurling A final.
Sunday's Leinster Colleges Senior Football A final sees Franciscan College Gormanston take on Athlone CC at 2pm in Pearse Park, Longford, and in the Connacht Colleges Senior A football final, St Colman's meet St Jarlath's in Ballinrobe with a 3pm throw-in. It will be preceded by the Senior B Football final between Rice College and Headford at 1.30.
HOCKEY
The final of the Leinster Schoolboys Senior Cup final takes place today in Grange Road at 3.30pm. Wesley College, hoping to retain their title, meet High School. The minor final, Sutton Park v Wesley, is at 1.45pm .
RUGBY
Coláiste Iognáid face tough competition from Marist College Athlone today in the Sportsground, Galway, for the Connacht Senior Cup final, kick-off 2.30.
Today's Munster Schools Junior cup semi-finals see the champions PBC Cork playing Crescent Comprehensive (Garryowen 3pm) and Castletroy College facing CBC at Old Crescent RFC (also 3pm).
Anglesea Road is the venue for today's Section B Leinster Schools Senior Cup semi-final replay at 4.30pm: St Columba's versus Gonzaga College. The winners meet Cistercian Roscrea in the final on Monday in Donnybrook at 3pm. Wilson's Hospital face Newpark in North Kildare RFC at 3pm in the Leinster Section A Senior Shield final.
The Ulster Schools Senior Cup semi-final has Ballyclare HS and Regent House in Ravenhill today at 2.30pm.
