Unlike professional Peter Lawrie, who won a £45,000 plus Jaguar car for a hole in one in the Philippine Open last week, Eddie White had to settle for a little less when he holed out his five wood tee shot at the 196 yards par three 13th hole during the qualifying rounds of the Leinster Section of the Irish Junior Cup at Esker Hills on Sunday. His hole in one, however, didn't help the Co Longford player as he went down 2 and 1 as Moate qualified for their seventh-in-row Leinster playoffs. Moate will be joined in the play-offs at Laytown and Bettystown on July 10th and 11th by Balbriggan, Castlecomer, Arklow, Sutton Hermitage, Ballinascorney and Stackstown who knocked out the All-Ireland champions Old Conna at Greystones.
The Draw for the Quarter finals is: Balllinascorney v Balbriggan; Stackstown v Castlecomer; Sutton v Moate; Hermitage v Arklow.
