Norman Williamson completed a double in the opening two races at Roscommon last night aboard Life Of A King and True Rock. Life Of A King was prominent throughout in the Roscommon Handicap Hurdle and had the three mile event in safe keeping from the second last going on to win by an eased down five and a half lengths. True Rock led before half-way in the Elphin Maiden Hurdle, and was sent into a clear lead before three out by the Corkman. He eased the gelding right down on the run-in for a six-length success from Lisnatine.

Winning trainer Noel Meade said: "He will go to Tralee for a winners race, and will be switched back to the flat at some stage this year. The main factor with this fellow is fast ground."

Darbela also benefitted from front-running tactics to land the International Race under John Murtagh. John Oxx's filly had her three rivals well strung out entering the straight, and was always holding the challenge of Carnelly in the final quarter mile for a two and a half length win.
