American journeyman Mark Wilson claimed his maiden PGA Tour title by making  a birdie the third hole of a four-way playoff at the Honda Classic today.

Wilson, who has made 10 consecutive trips to the qualifying school since joining the tour in 1997, rolled in a 10-footer on the par-three 17th to clinch victory while Argentina's Jose Coceres watched his seven-foot attempt lip the cup.

Colombia's Camilo Villegas and American Boo Weekley were eliminated after carding bogey fives at the second extra hole.

It was the second successive week Coceres had lost a playoff, after his defeat by American Fred Funk at the Mayakoba Classic in Mexico.

The playoff resumed at the par-four 10th after fading light suspended play following one extra hole at the PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens on Sunday.

Yesterday, Padraig Harrington dropped back into a tie for 13th on level par after the Dubliner closed with a one-over 71. Harrington failed to make enough putts and was left to rue missed opportunities over the weekend.
