Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle was reported yesterday to be in talks with newly-promoted Wolves about a move to Molineux.
The 25-year-old has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Reading in the event €7.5 million is offered for him, although even this level of payment may not be required after club failed to make it back to the Premier League this season. Doyle has been linked with a number of top-flight clubs and there appears to competition for his signature, but Mick McCarthy is said to be particularly keen on recruiting him.
